Alabama State University BFA Dance Community Series 2025 Brings Renowned Artists to Montgomery

Montgomery, AL – Alabama State University's Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to announce the BFA Dance Program's 2024 Community Series: an exciting lineup of dance experiences provided by nationally and internationally renowned artists. The first in the series are two collaborative events, presented by the Institute of Intercultural Studies: Dance, Arts, History, Culture and ASU's BFA Program in Dance.  Forces of Nature Dance Theatre's (Harlem, NY) founder and artistic director, Abdel Salaam, promises captivating experiences in both master dance class and film/discussion. The film explores the choreography that establishes the dance company's critically acclaimed and internationally renowned status.

Choreographers and dance company directors Jamel Gaines and Iquail Shaheed complement the series with master classes and choreography. Sudha Raghuram will teach a master class in the classical Indian dance form, Baharata Natyam. Professor Morgan Jackson…
