Nikki Hefko- Master Class

Nikki Hefko is Owner & Artistic Director of The New Orleans School of Ballet a pre-professional conservatory in New Orleans, Louisiana. For ten years she was a faculty member at Dance Theatre of Harlem School where she also served as Summer Intensive Director. Additionally she taught at Brooklyn Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet School NY and as a choreographer and guest instructor nationwide. Mrs. Hefko was a School of American Ballet National Visiting Teaching, has complete teacher training at Central Pennsylvania Ballet School and is an American Ballet Theater® Certified Teacher in levels Pre-Primary through 7 of the ABT® National Teacher Training Curriculum, Mrs. Hefko began her professional career as a member of the Dance Theatre of Harlem, under the direction of Arthur Mitchell. In 2006, she performed at the White House, captured in the PBS Special, In Performance at the White House, honoring the life and career of Arthur Mitchell. Additionally, she has danced with Les Grands Ballet Canadiens, The Metropolitan Opera and other companies as a freelance dancer.

Ms. Hefko choreographed and conceived, The Nutcracker in New Orleans, which is produced annually by New Orleans School of Ballet.  She has worked as a freelance choregrapher and her work was been twice nominated for the New Orleans Big Easy Entertainment Awards in 2016 and 2017. Ms. Hefko has Bachelor and Master degrees in Literature and Education from Loyola University New Orleans.
